The California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”) was signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown on June 28, 2018, and goes into effect on January 1, 2020. The CCPA gives significant new data privacy rights to California residents with respect to their personal information that is collected and maintained by companies doing business in California.
