Litigation

James Darling focuses on complex commercial litigation in federal and state courts. His experience includes working on breach of contract, employment, trade secret misappropriation, and shareholder actions. He has also handled patent infringement matters in more than 20 federal jurisdictions and before the International Trade Commission.

Prior to joining Coblentz, James was an associate at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP in Silicon Valley.

James earned his J.D. from the UCLA School of Law in 2019. While at UCLA, James co-founded the Disability Law Journal and externed for the Honorable Kim McLane Wardlaw in the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. James received his M.A. in Archaeology, with distinction, from the University of Durham in 2016. He received his B.A. in Cognitive Science and Anthropology, cum laude, from the University of California, San Diego in 2013.
