Stephanie Straka advises developers, capital partners, tenants, and lenders on land use entitlements, strategy, and risk related to local government and resource agency approvals for residential, retail, office, industrial, energy, and R&D projects throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. She has extensive experience in planning and zoning law, the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), Subdivision Map Act, and municipal law. Stephanie negotiates agreements with local governments, supervises environmental documentation preparation, conducts land use due diligence for real estate transactions, and assists in the defense of CEQA determinations and entitlements in trial and appellate court proceedings.

Stephanie is a member of the Urban Land Institute and NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association. She has been an update co-author for the CEB California Land Use Practice treatise since 2017.

Stephanie earned her J.D. from the University of California College of Law, San Francisco (Hastings) in 2011 and earned her B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley in 2008.

Stephanie is recognized as a Northern California Rising Star by Super Lawyers in the Land Use/Zoning category.
