Daniel Barsky’s practice focuses on commercial real estate and land use transactions involving purchase and sales, joint ventures, leasing, financing, and corporate restructuring. His clients include developers and investors in the office, hotel, retail, and oil & gas sectors.
Daniel has litigated breach of contract claims in connection with commercial leases and purchase and sale agreements. His exposure to litigation informs his land use practice, as he helps clients navigate the entitlements process for mixed-use retail and institutional projects.
Daniel is active in pro bono matters, where he advocates on behalf of indigent clients seeking affordable housing and emergency shelter.
He is a contributing author of the firm’s Unfamiliar Terrain blog, which provides insights into the complex Bay Area land use landscape.
Prior to joining Coblentz, Daniel was an associate at Russ August & Kabat in Los Angeles.
Daniel is a member of the State Bar of California and the Bar Association of San Francisco. He is also a member of the UCLA Real Estate Alumni Group, in collaboration with the UCLA Ziman Center for Real Estate and the Anderson School of Management.
Daniel earned his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law, and his B.A. in International Studies from Washington University in St. Louis, where he graduated magna cum laude. He externed for the United States Attorney’s Office, Central District of California, and the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office at the Department of Water and Power.
