Crista Welch focuses her practice on complex commercial disputes, white collar defense, and internal investigations. She represents businesses and individuals in a variety of matters, including contract, antitrust, false advertising, and consumer class action cases.
Crista also prioritizes her pro bono practice. She has represented LGBTQ and disabled veterans in discharge upgrade proceedings and medical malpractice claims, recent immigrants seeking asylum, and public school students in disciplinary matters under the California Education Code.
Prior to joining Coblentz, Crista was a litigation associate at Winston & Strawn LLP in San Francisco.
Crista received her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law in 2016. During law school, she served as the Executive Editor of the Berkeley Journal of Gender, Law and Justice and externed for the Honorable Jacqueline Scott Corley in the Northern District of California. She also earned the Stephen Cone Fellowship for legal research and writing and the CALI award for excellence in Property Law. Crista received her B.A. in History-Literature, Phi Beta Kappa, from Reed College, where her undergraduate thesis received the William T. Lankford Award for interdisciplinary scholarship.
