John Anderson is a prominent counsel and legal advisor to the marketing services industry. He has more than 25 years of experience with advertising, new media, branding and strategy, direct response, design, market research, and public relations matters.
John's clients range from large multinational corporations to small emerging agencies. He has served as counsel to a variety of trade organizations and as a legal advisor to Adweek Magazine and The Clio Awards. John has extensive experience advising start-up advertising and new media agencies, including, most recently, two of the nation's most successful integrated agencies.
John is an experienced trial lawyer and has tried more than 45 jury trials involving a wide variety of civil disputes. He has argued to the U.S. Supreme Court in cases involving privacy and federal securities law and was elected a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers in 1987.

John has lectured widely at legal and advertising gatherings, including California's Continuing Education of the Bar, University of California's Hastings College of the Law, the American Association of Advertising Agencies, and The Clio Awards.
John has served on the Board of Trustees for the University of California Press Foundation, where he was president from 2001 to 2004; the San Francisco Conservatory of Music's Board of Trustees, where he served as president from 1987 to 1990; the Sausalito Art Festival Foundation Board of Trustees; and as a counsel to the San Francisco Ballet.
John received his undergraduate degree from Pomona College and his J.D. from the University of California at Berkeley, School of Law (Boalt Hall).
